PHILOLOGICAL COMMENTARY
  • See 32.A.20; the two omens are similar, but differ in that the lizard falls onto the man’s pūtu ‘forehead’ in the Assur omen. The commentary at 32.S.3 discusses the confusion between būdu ‘shoulder(s)’ and pūtu ‘forehead’.
  • The omens 32.S.18 through 32.S.25 follow closely the Assur sequence (32.A.20 through 32.A.28).
