PHILOLOGICAL COMMENTARY
  • We reconstruct the above omen’s missing parts from 32.A.58. The two omens are similar notwithstanding the different formulation in the apodoses in which the master of the house in the Assur omen is saved by ‘the king’s will’, instead of by ‘the king’s hand’.
  • See the discussion at 32.A.58 for the interpretation of the apodosis’s ina as the instrument ‘by’.
  • For a discussion of If a City 2’s problematic connection between 32.N.56’, 32.A.58, and 32.S.75, see the commentary at 32.N.56’.
