PHILOLOGICAL COMMENTARY

Note that collation has allowed us to place K 08048+ 9 with this omen: transliteration and translation of this line were not included by If a City 2, 274-275. However, the line was included in the score (If a City 2, 283) as omen *38.25a and it is mentioned on page 275, n. 25 as an interpolation because of its alleged similarity with omen *38.25' (= 38.26' in this edition).

The translation of the apodosis in If a City 2, (275, *38.26') seems mistakenly to take ZI as ZU.

Note the association between the mention of a man's foot in the protasis and the reference to a journey in the apodosis. See also 38.28'.
