PHILOLOGICAL COMMENTARY
  • The remnants of the sign after UGU in K 02708+ iv 8’ (read above as ˹MUNUS˺?) are a vertical wedge with a partial diagonal towards the bottom. The reading is inconclusive, but the traces allow for MUNUS. All that remains of the sign read as ˹x˺ in line K 02708+ iv 9’ is a faint vertical wedge on the sign’s right-hand side.
  • The lines are read in If a City 2 (194, 32.70’, A iv 8’-10’) as

         […] KIMIN ina UGU x […] / ŠUB-ut NA BI […] / NA BI […] (ruling)

The reconstructed transliteration in If a City 2 (172, 32.70’) can only be seen as a mistake. Collation shows that there is not enough room on the manuscript to reconstruct DIŠ EME.ŠID before KI.MIN. Instead, KI.MIN should be interpreted as a sign of repetition whose referent is EME.DIR.
