PHILOLOGICAL COMMENTARY

The translation follows Freedman (If a City 2, 9, *22.12).

At the end of VAT 13804 1’, Heeßel restores MAŠ.EN.GAG [išarru] ‘ein Armer [wird reich werden]’ (KAL 1 10, 42-43, Vs. 1’). The hand copy of VAT 13804 (KAL 1, 160) suggests, however, that the apodosis attested in the other manuscripts, ina la-li-šú ÚŠ, could be restored instead.
