<p>We interpret the first protasis <em>amēlu šū itti erši iṣabbassuma</em>, literally ‘that man: the sign of the bed will seize him’ as ‘that man will become bedridden’.</p>
<p>A similar apodosis is found in a hemerological text, which, however, does not include GIZKIM:</p>

<p>Livingstone (2013, 131) translates: ‘The 20th day: Calamity. Unfavorable. / Ditto. Falling out of bed will beset the man.’</p>
<p>Casaburi (2003, 73, § 168) has a different reading of line 29, KIMIN <em>ina</em>! ŠÀ! GIŠ.NÁ NA DAB5-<em>at</em>, and translates: ‘Il giorno 20: tristezza (?); sfavorevole. <em>Ditto</em>, dentro al (suo) letto, (quest’)uomo sarà catturato’, which in English means, ‘The 20th day: sadness (?); unfavourable. <em>Ditto</em>, in (his) bed, (this) man will be captured/trapped.’The CAD (E, 318, eršu d 2’) has the same reading as Livingstone and translates: ‘confinement to bed will befall (this man)’.</p>

<p>Most of the commentary is broken, but we can see that ‘the sign of the bed’ is connected to being inside the bed (<em>ina erši</em>). Perhaps the broken commentary even quoted from the above-cited hemerology in VAT 10564 i 28-29, and said <em>ina</em> gišNÁ [DAB …] or the like.
