I am an Assyriologist focussing focus on Ancient Near Eastern history, religion, and literature. I have been working as an Associated Professor for Assyriology at the Department of Near Eastern Studies of the University of Vienna.

I am currently conducting a research project at Trinity College Dublin on magic in Mesopotamia. My contribution to the Bestiarium Mesopotamicum has been the re-edition of the pests omens and further forthcoming material.
Judith Pfitzner

I am a Sumerologist with a focus on literature. For the Bestiarium Mesopotamicum I have profited from my doctoral research on animal imagery in Sumerian literary language.
Maya Rinderer

My work for the Bestiarium Mesopotamicum focusses chiefly on the snake omens, in particular Tablets 22-24 of Šumma ālu. The new edition and additional analysis resulted in my master's thesis submitted to the University of Vienna in 2021.
Nicole Lundeen-Kaulfus

I am currently working towards my master’s degree in Ancient Near Eastern Philology and Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of Vienna. Written under the auspices of the project "Bestiarium Mesopotamicum", my thesis will present a newly revised edition of the lizard omens in Šumma ālu.
